Academy Singers

Chamber Choir Academy Singers returns this year with an interesting selection of fine choral
arrangements, including some favourite Christmas music, to celebrate the beginning
of the Festive Season.

This long-established group of choral singers offer Blue Mountains
residents and visitors regular concerts of well-loved choral music,
including traditional masterpieces as well as newer works by
contemporary composers. Their repertoire is extensive and includes
both sacred and secular works from the rich English and American
traditions, madrigals, folk song, jazz, gospel, and more recently
venturing into Eastern European and African songs.

Musical Director Paul Terracini has worked as conductor and composer
with one of Europe's finest chamber choirs, Ars Nova Copenhagen, and
the Sydney based choir, Cantillation, and has recorded for ABC Classics.
Paul was appointed principal conductor of Penrith Symphony Orchestra in
2010 and accepted the position of Director of Academy Singers in
November 2011. He regularly conducts major choral and orchestral
works with the Penrith Symphony Orchestra, Academy Singers, and
Penrith City Choir.

This afternoon’s performance comprises an interesting selection of fine
choral arrangements, including some favourite Christmas music, to
celebrate the beginning of the Festive Season.’
